I consider myself very lucky -- as ARRL News Editor, I get to work with Amateur Radio all day. On the weekends, I get to get on the air. I usually operate from K1TTT in Peru, Massachusetts. I operated my first non-M/M contest  -- ARRL RTTY RU -- in January 2009 (M/S using K1TTY), coming in #6 W/VE and winning the New England Division Multi-Operator High Power category with a score of 162,540. I also participated in the 2009 BARTG Sprint (MO using K1SFA), setting the USA Record with a score of 462,672.

In 2009 -- my first year of RTTY contesting -- not only did I do the above, but I won the OK RTTY Contest with a score of 1,486,494. In the SARTG RTTY Contest, I placed #6 for SOAB and #4 for 20 meters. We placed #7 in the Russian WW RTTY Contest with a score of 946,85o and #4 in the SCC RTTY Contest with a score of 439,803. In all of these, K1SFA was the top USA station in the contest!

Look for K1SFA to do even better in 2010!

I'll also operating M/M (using K1TTT) in ARRL DX CW and ARRL DX SSB, CQWW RTTY, CQWW CW and CQWW SSB, as well as the NE England QSO Party (NEQP) and IARU World Championships. I also operate M/M from K1TT (using NE1C) for CQ WPX SSB.

I am Membership Manager for the #1 contest club in the USA - Yankee Clipper Contest Club (YCCC). I am also trustee for the Fr James P McCaffrey Memorial Radio Station (KB1RLY). I'm a member of the Laird Campbell Memorial HQ Operators Club (W1HQ) and the Newington Amateur Radio League (NARL).

73 and KB!!!
